Individual experiences promote personal awareness through creative exploration and discovery using various art materials and mediums without judgement or expectations. Experiences can be customized to address specific topics or areas of concern or left open for a more intuitive experience.
Personal exploration and discovery - Whether the experience is customized or open, an Expressive Art Experience naturally offers personal insight for sensory, emotional, visual, and cognitive exploration and discovery.
Anxiety, ADD/ADHD, Autism - Customized Expressive Art Experiences provide a new and fun way to encourage focus, self-regulation, and sensory integration. Art offers a unique opportunity to learn and process that does not require traditional verbal instruction or interaction.
Problem solving or resolution - Sometimes a specific problem can be solved or brought to resolution through an Expressive Art Experience. Art can teach about boundaries, flexibility, tenacity, compassion, perspective, and more. Art usually has a way of showing us our greatest strengths, as well as the areas we can benefit from by improving them.
Relationships - Relationship conflicts or concerns can often be resolved through effective communication. Accepting that not everyone sees, hears, and processes in the same way is a vital aspect of effective communication. Experiencing and observing an Expressive Art Experience with the other person or persons in the strained relationship can provide a new perspective about how people communicate, learn, and process differently.
Trauma and PTSD - How a traumatic experience is processed is unique to each individual. An Expressive Art Experience provides the opportunity to consciously or subconsciously explore experienced trauma. The brain seems to know intuitively which approach is best when individuals trust the art making experience.
Experiences such as visual journaling and others can be selected from a predetermined menu or customized to address a specific topic of interest.
Experiences with various materials and mediums can be intuitive and open for a more spontaneous and less-structured approach. Where needed, Susan provides assistance and guidance in art techniques and/or therapeutic support.
